Settings: General
The General Settings tab in Workalizer provides a single place to manage core workspace configuration: workspace name, billing contact, primary timezone, office IP addresses for activity tracking, and the option to permanently delete the workspace. This guide describes the functionality of the General Settings section under Settings.
Where to Find General Settings
Go to /settings/ and open the General tab. Only users with the appropriate admin permissions can view and change these settings.
Functionality
- Workspace name: Update the name of your Workalizer workspace. This name may appear in the product and in billing or admin contexts.
- Billing contact: Set or change the billing contact for the workspace (e.g. for subscription and payment communications). For full billing and subscription management, use the Billing tab.
- Primary timezone: Configure the workspace’s primary timezone. Accurate timezone settings improve reporting and analytics (e.g. workday boundaries, activity by hour, and office vs remote detection when combined with office IPs).
- Office IP addresses: Define the IP addresses (or ranges) that identify “office” or on-premises network for activity tracking. Workalizer uses this to distinguish work from the office versus work from home or other locations in reports such as Work Location Breakdown. You can add or edit office IP suggestions and save the list.
- Delete workspace: Access the option to permanently delete the entire workspace. This action is critical and typically irreversible—all data and configurations for the workspace are removed. Use with caution and only when the workspace is no longer needed.
